When the Sailor Pen Company first opened their factory in Kure, Hiroshima in 1911, they became the first business to locally produce fountain pens in Japan. Many years and many successful fountain pen launches later, it was decided that the historic landmark would be reconstructed and modernized. The new headquarters was finished in 2022, and some of the trees that had to be felled during the process found new life in the Sailor Pro Gear Rebuilding Hiroshima Factory Commemorative Fountain Pen. The wooden cap and barrel beautifully contrast with the black resin finial and section. All these are tied together by gold trims and a 21-karat gold nib with the inscription “Hiroshima Factory 2022”. Only 999 units were ever produced.
We have for sale Sailor Pro Gear Rebuilding Hiroshima Factory Commemorative Fountain Pen with an M nib. It comes complete with its wooden box engraved with the modernized Hiroshima factory, inserts, and a Sailor-branded cleaning cloth.
