Suzuki Harunobu was a woodblock print artist from the 1700s who was proficient in the ukiyo-e style. The first to use full color in his pieces (nishiki-e), he was known for his soft style and doll-like interpretation of people. One of his prints, “Tsurebiki”, inspired Sailor’s Ebonite Naginata Togi series fifth edition “Shyokei” (“Admiration”).
The pen is made from colored ebonite designed using the “chirashi” or scattering technique to achieve its unique pattern. Its colors are reminiscent of Harunobu’s palette, highlighted by trims of gold. It carries a 21-karat gold King of Pen Naginata Togi, a rare nib known for its brush-like experience that produces gorgeous line variations.
We have for sale a brand new Sailor Limited Edition King of Pens (KOP) Ebonite Naginata Togi Shyokei fountain pen with an NM (Naginata Togi Medium-Fine) nib. It comes complete with its box, papers, and other inserts.
