The 1911 is a solid, well-designed fountain pen series with an efficient silhouette and a responsive nib. It was launched in 1981 to commemorate the founding year of the Sailor Pen Company. The "Large" (1911L) model was later introduced in 2011 in celebration of the brand’s centennial, increasing its size for a better grip. This larger pen is balanced by a signature 21-karat gold nib, which is exclusive to Sailor. Aside from its unique feedback, it also offers a bit of a bounce for smooth, effortless strokes.
