The Sailor 1911 series debuted in 1981 as a tribute to the year that Sailor was founded. The 1911 was (and is) a quintessential workhorse, with its efficient silhouette and a nib that offers delicate flexibility.
Thirty years later, in 2011, the 1911 L or “Large” was launched to commemorate the company’s centennial year. It still retains the cigar shape of the standard 1911–only bigger–and offers a different writing experience than its predecessor.
The size of these pens is great for those who enjoy a good grip and a bit of heft. This is balanced with a 21K yellow gold nib that offers a bit of bounce, resulting in efficient but smooth strokes on paper. Classic 1911 Ls come in black, white, and maroon, although there are special edition releases.
What we have for sale is a brand-new classic Sailor 1911 L Black with gold trims and an M nib. It comes complete with its box, papers, and other inclusions.
