Pelikan celebrated its 170th anniversary in 2008 with two iterations of the M800 Demonstrator: one was made from clear resin with minimal gold embellishments that offer a peek into pen’s brass piston mechanism, while the other, which was also made from clear resin, had etchings on its barrel that described each part of the pen’s internal assembly. Unlike the former, however, the latter had an “open spindle”, which meant that a part of the piston’s brass connector was removed for an uninterrupted view of the spindle. This feature was skipped in newer iterations.

For sale today is a new-old-stock Pelikan M800 Demonstrator with etchings in English. This is similar to pens that you’d find in Pelikan store displays during the time of its launch. It carries an B nib—a bit of a rarity in Pelikan pens–and is in great condition with no ink stains. We’re offering only the pen, no box or papers.
