There’s nothing like a welcome face to greet one after a long day or a tiring journey. This is probably the thought of many Edo period ukiyo-e artists who would drop by Takashima, a popular cake shop that was run by Ohisa. She was the daughter of the owner and was known for her beauty, so much so that even woodblock print master Kitagawa Utamaro created art inspired by her.
The Namiki Ukiyo-e Ohisa Takashima fountain pen was created by the artisan collaborative Kokkokai in honor of this timeless elegance. It features the traditional hira maki-e technique where the design is painted and sprinkled with precious metal dust (usually gold) before lacquering to achieve a smooth, flat surface.
We have for sale a brand new Namiki Ukiyo-e Ohisa Takashima fountain pen with 14-karat gold M nib. It comes complete with its box, papers, and other inserts.
