Sapphires have always been considered to be precious. There are pieces that are so rare, they’re even named. The Star of Adam, a light-blue sapphire adorned with a white starburst, is one of the largest sapphires to have ever been discovered at 1,404 karats. On the other hand, the Stuart Sapphire may only weigh 104 karats, but it’s probably one you’ve seen many times, as it’s been set onto the Imperial State Crown of England.
Montblanc has also used sapphires in many of its pens, one of which is the Bohème Bleu. Released in 2000, this pen features a synthetic sapphire gem in a paramount cut set on its platinum-plated clip. The cap and barrel are made from Montblanc’s precious resin inlaid with platinum-plated fittings. It carries a retractable, 14k rhodium-plated gold nib.
For sale is a brand new Montblanc Bohème Bleu with an F nib. It comes complete with its inner box, outer box, and booklet.
Length capped: 11 cm.
Length uncapped (nib included): 13.5 cm.
