Introduced in 1993, the Montblanc Writers Edition Agatha Christie was the second pen of the collection. Two versions—one in 925 solid silver and another in vermeil—were released as a tribute to her thrilling whodunit novels. Both had a clip in the shape of a serpent, representing the author’s interest in subtle foreshadowing and poisonous plot devices.
In the same year, Montblanc had two more iterations of the pen in gold and silver. These were made specifically for the East Asian market, and as such, it carried a dragon clip instead of a serpent. Only 888 units of each set were released (888 being a very lucky number in Chinese numerology).
