The Montblanc 146 underwent several transformations throughout the decades. Initially, it did not come with the “4810” engraving on its nib that the 149 had (which stood for the peak height of the Montblanc mountain from sea level). It did earn the mark later on, as with the rest of the Meisterstuck line. After a pause in production some time in the 1960s, the 146 returned featuring a clear blue ink window that evolved into transparent stripes. In the 1990s, it finally got its two-toned nib.
No matter what form, the Montblanc 146 is considered by many to be a great workhorse of a pen. This piston filler promises long hours of continuous writing with a nib that glides buttery smooth on paper. It measures 14.6 cm capped and 16.1 cm posted.
Available today is a used 146 with a two-tone gold nib (F). We’re offering only the pen; no box or papers.
