Montblanc Writers Edition Fjodor Dostoevsky
₱62,500.00

Russian author Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s 1866 novel, Crime and Punishment, follows the tormented Rodion Raskolnikov, a destitute former law student in St. Petersburg. Poverty and alienation causes his morality to crumble, pushing him to commit murder even as he tries to justify his actions to his own conscience with complex, self-serving philosophy.

While the novel was met with initial success, it was not without critics. Its deep dive into psychoanalysis and existentialism combined with dashes of the absurd and real-world coincidences (a few days after the novel’s first release, a student committed a crime similar to the main character) disturbed many readers. Despite—or maybe because of all this, Crime and Punishment remains to be one of the most important literary works from 20th-century Europe, and is arguably the greatest novel of Fyodor Dostoyevsky.

In honor of this author and his masterpiece, Montblanc released the Montblanc Writers Edition Fyodor M. Dostoevsky in 1997. Its black precious resin barrel is adorned by a Czarist Russia-inspired pattern, and a sapphire cabochon is embedded on the simple gold clip.  With a design that’s somber, unsettling, and sobering, this pen is the perfect homage for a writer who delved into the disappearance of morality.

We have for sale a brand new Montblanc Writers Edition Fyodor Dostoyevsky rollerball pen. It comes complete with its sealed box, papers, and other inclusions. Pen photos shown are for reference only, except for the sealed box.
