In Japan, cherry blossoms (sakura) herald the beginning of spring. As they bloom, communities come together for flower viewing (hanami), where they enjoy picnics under the rain of pink petals. Hanami only lasts for as long as sakura are in bloom. It is both a celebration and a reminder of the transience of beauty.
Inspired by sakura backdropped by night sky, Wancher released the Dream Pen Echizen Urushi fountain pen line, which is made in Echizen, a city located in Fukui Prefecture. Echizen’s lacquerware history started around 1,500 years ago, making the region one of the oldest producers of urushi products in the country.
The Dream Pen Echizen Urushi has two designs: the Omoide Sakura and the Sakura Zukiyo. We have for sale a brand new Sakura Zukiyo fountain pen with a steel nib (M) and a red ebonite feed for improved ink flow. It comes complete with its box, papers, and inclusions.
