Vincent Van Gogh painted Orchard in Blossom in 1889, inspired by the many beautiful fruit orchards in Arles during spring. Fruit-bearing trees held special significance for the artist as these symbolized awakening and renewal. Plums were also a common subject in his paintings, and some of his works featuring them were even influenced by Japanese woodblock pieces.
The colors of one of Van Gogh’s plum orchards were the inspiration for the Visconti Van Gogh Orchard in Blossom Rose Gold fountain pen, featuring a body made of resin in swirls of blue, violet, pink, and green. This cartridge/converter writing instrument features trims in rose gold, a steel nib, and Visconti’s magnetic cap mechanism.
