The inspiration for the Visconti Dark Age fountain pen was not exactly the era between the fall of Rome and the Renaissance, but the prehistoric human who used stone for survival. To reflect this, the pen is created by volcanic material from Mount Etna, an active stratovolcano located in Italy. More than being hydroscopic and offering a unique tactile experience, basaltic lava is rich in iron and magnesium and is known for its durability and resistance to breaking. The trims are made from darkened metal trims and features a blacked-out “arc” clip. It carries a 18-karat, ruthenium-coated gold nib, tying together the dark, stealthy look of the entire pen.
We have for sale a brand new Viscoti Homo Sapiens Dark Age with an F nib. It comes complete with its box, papers, and inserts.
