The Sailor Traditional Japanese Lacquer Art Rei line of fountain pens feature urushi techniques from different regions in Japan. The first series release Wajima Akebono-nuri features the method of painting that results in a beautiful, even, dark-to-light gradient. For this specific design, Wajima urushi artisan Masanora Sumi blended his years of working with Wajima-nuri (known for very durable, glossy finish in black and vermillion) and Akebono-nuri to create a pen with a resin cap and an ebonite barrel that goes from a glossy black to a gorgeous shade of deep red.
The Sailor Traditional Japanese Lacquer Art Rei Wajima Akebono-nuri is a work of art, and we have for sale a brand new unit with a 21-karat gold nib in H-M. It comes complete with its Paulownia box, papers, and other inserts.
Length capped: 15.1 cm.
