There’s elegance in the simplicity of a white fountain pen. It’s rarely flashy and gets more appealing upon closer inspection, so much so that the charm of having one outweighs the extra effort needed to maintain it. When the special edition Pelikan M605 White Stripe (also known as White Transparent) was announced, some expected it to look plain, but this 2017 release got its shade right—a very clean white that isn’t ivory. With palladium-plated trimmings, it exudes understated classiness. The barrel stripes have a slight sparkle and offer a peek into the ink reservoir, while the rhodium-plated 14C-585 gold nib promises satisfying strokes.
