The Emperor Collection consists of Namiki’s largest, top-of-the-line pens. With an eyedropper filling system, their impressive size has a purpose, but it isn’t the only thing that makes these ebonite writing instruments special. Emperor pens are applied with master-level urushi and maki-e artistry, going from color-blocked pieces to those sprinkled with gold and silver powder, or those featuring the chinkin technique that produces very intricate designs. All of these are tied together with the biggest nib you’ll probably write with: a No. 50 made with 18-karat gold, larger than even the popular Montblanc 149 nib.
These pens are quite special and, despite their size, are actually quite comfortable to use. We have one on sale—a brand new Namiki Emperor Urushi Black with an FM nib. It comes complete with its box, papers, and other inclusions.
Length capped: 18.4 cm.
