Rudyard Kipling was a poet, short-story writer, and a novelist best known for how he explored and chronicled British India. He would write very vivid narratives and use the vernacular language in poetry, making his works more readable and relatable to the common man. As imperialism was often his central topic, many of the literature he produced were controversial, even polarizing, especially during the end of World War I. Many decades later, however, they would be studied for their technicality and become materials for post-colonial research in universities.
Controversial or not, this author contributed much to English literature, which is why Montblanc released the Writers Edition Rudyard Kipling, a pen with such a unique jungle green color from its resin cap to barrel. The platinum-coated clip features the head of a wolf, symbolizing the pack that protected Mowgli as he grew up in Kipling’s ever-popular “Jungle Book”. A ring near the finial has a line from his poem “If—” engraved, and the author’s signature adorns the cap. The 18-karat, rhodium-plated gold nib features the globe.
