Alexander the Great is known for being one of the most successful generals in history, overthrowing the Persian empire and conquering Macedonia, Egypt, Asia Minor, Mesopotamia, Armenia, Assyria, Babylonia, Media, Persis, Ariana, Sogdiana, Bactria, and even parts of India—this was all before his death at 32. He was a master of cavalry strategies, so much so that he did not need to fall back on his infantry during his many conquests. He is also most famous for never losing a battle.
Montblanc highlights this historic warlord on its Patron of the Art Alexander the Great fountain pen. It features a blue barrel reminiscent of the Aegean Sea, and a gold cap with an intricate Hellenistic design that calls back to how his campaigns spread Hellenism and the practice of territorial monarchies. It’s a heavy pen and while it’s not much for posting, it features the famous Montblanc writing experience with a bit of flourish.
