John Lennon was the co-founder of The Beatles, the world’s most successful, influential, and best-selling music act. The band revolutionized music and its production through sound experimentation and innovation, globally influencing culture and fashion for many decades. 

Lennon was known for his masterful compositions. Many consider “Strawberry Fields” as his best work with the band, and when he went solo, his critically-acclaimed song “Imagine” became a social commentary and an anthem for peace. An activist his later years, he protested the war in Vietnam, leading to constant FBI surveillance when he lived in the U.S. His life was cut short when he was shot by an obsessed fan in December of 1980.
