John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, more popularly known as the worldwide phenomenon "The Beatles", shook the music industry with their catchy tunes,  intriguing personalities, and the great inspiration they provided musicians through their exploration of new recording techniques. One of their most popular albums was "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", which is seen as a successful experiment in sound composition as well as a culmination of the late 1960s’ sense of creativity, freedom, and empowerment.

This inspired the design of Montblanc's Great Characters The Beatles, a limited edition fountain pen celebrating the legendary band. The pen's barrel end is reminiscent of the knobs at the Abbey Road studios, while the cap’s domed top is inspired by the studio's mics. The colorful lacquer barrel and cap mirror the album's psychedelic color scheme and the pen’s ruthenium-coated clip features four mustaches representing the four band members.
