Montblanc’s Around the World in 80 Days collection features a line of writing instruments that highlight parts of Jules Verne’s popular novel. From train rides to elephants in Bombay, it brings fans along the adventure of beloved characters Mr. Fogg and Passepartout as they circumnavigate the world.
One of the releases is a Classique Duoé, which highlights the first part of the story where the crew travels via steamboat, with the vessel and waves engraved on its ruthenium-coated cap. The clip features a black, lacquered spade, symbolizing a card game during which Mr. Fogg made his life-changing wager. Engraved near the finial is the length of their journey, and this is all contrasted by a gorgeous blue barrel and an 18-karat, rhodium-plated gold nib etched with a hot-air balloon.
We have for sale a brand-new Montblanc Meisterstück Around the World in 80 Days Classique Duoé (Steamboat) with an M nib. It comes complete with its box, papers, and other inclusions.
Length capped: 14.0 cm.
