There are many urushi techniques, some of which exude a playful vibe such as Kara-nuri, a popular Tsugaru-nuri style developed by the artisans of Tsuragu from the Aomori Prefecture in Japan. The pattern features formless outlines and speckles created by up to six different urushi colors against a solid background.

This technique is highlighted in the Danitrio Takumi Tsugaru Kara-Nuri, which has a base of ebonite. We have a pre-owned unit for sale, which carries a B nib. The pen is in good condition with minimal signs of use. It comes with its inner box and cloth only, no outer cardboard box or papers.
