Carbon fiber is made from carbon filaments and is known to be thin, lightweight, and strong. It’s usually combined with resin, which ups its strength—it can resist deformation, and some types can even conduct heat and electricity. Carbon fiber is used in many things, including spacecraft parts, car bodies and hoods, and even badminton rackets, and yes, fountain pens.

Sports brand Yonex is popular for its Carbonex badminton rackets, and while a bit unusual, the brand partnered with Sailor to produce the Sailor x Yonex Carbon fountain pen. Carbon fiber is used on the barrel and the cap, making the pen lightweight and durable. It’s installed with a 14-karat, rhodium-plated gold nib.

We have for sale a pre-owned Sailor x Yonex Carbon fountain pen with an HM nib. It has very minimal micro scratches and is in good working condition. We’re offering only the pen, no box or papers.
