Arita porcelain’s rich heritage, began with the numerous kaolin deposits in the town of Arita in the 1600s, and few into a ceramic artform that the region is known for today. While traditional overglaze techniques that have been developed through generations remain a guarded secret, the town itself has become a hub for porcelain artisans and aficionados and has several schools and studios that feature the craft.
In celebration of the 400th anniversary of Arita porcelain, Sailor released the Special Edition Arita Porcelain Koransha Flower fountain pen, produced from the centuries-old Koransha kiln that was founded in 1689 by Matashiro Fukagawa.
We have this very special pen with a 21K gold H-M nib for sale today. It’s pre-owned and has very minimal micro scratches. It comes with its partial sent of inner box, sleeve, and converter.
