Sailor’s Naginata Fude de Mannen nib is quite interesting, especially if you break each feature down. It has a naginata tip, which is inspired by a medieval polearm that ends with a curved blade. This is combined with “fude” that translates to the brush commonly used in calligraphy, which moves and flips on each stroke—an inspiration for the flipped end on the nib. “Mannen” translates to fountain pen, so all in all the Naginata Fude de Mannen combines the characteristics of a traditional fountain pen nib and a calligraphy brush.
