The “S” in “Sailor 1911S” stands for “Standard” for the reason that it does set the standard for what a pen should be like at an affordable price point. It doesn’t cut corners—while it’s made of plastic, it’s sturdy enough to become an everyday pen, and can even withstand several drops (as long as it doesn’t fall nib-first). It’s an entry-level pen, and a really good one at that, as it carries a 14K gold nib that delivers great writing experience.
