Celluloid was commonly used in making fountain pens back in the 1920s. While the material slowly fell out of fashion due to more durable plastic options, celluloid fountain pens are still highly prized not only because they’re rare, but also because of their beautiful patterns and depth of color that resin can come close to recreating, but can never duplicate.
This is seen on the Platinum 3776 Century Midnight Blue Celluloid fountain pen. It features swirls of deep blue, black, and white, similar to what the ocean looks like under moonlight. It has rhodium plated fixtures and comes with a 14K rhodium-plated gold nib.
We have for sale a pre-owned Platinum 3776 Century Midnight Blue Celluloid fountain pen with an M nib. It has minimal micro scratches but is generally in good condition. We’re offering only the pen, no box or papers.
