Maple wood is known as kaede in Japan, and this material is used in the Pilot Custom Kaede, which carries an 14-karat gold nib that blends well with the wood’s beautiful creamy-brown tint. Overtime, the polished wood will darken, making its grain pattern even more vibrant.
