While Pilot’s retractable fountain pens have been rebranded as “Vanishing Point” in many places, they still go by their original 1960s name “Capless” in Japan. Moreover, the brand also has a slew of Japan-only Capless releases that are hard to find in second-hand markets. One of these is the 1999 release of pens with a crosshatch pattern. These had gold-plated trims and a lacquered enamel body, offering casual elegance and reliable writing with a quick push of a button. Add the fact that the current capless design was updated in 1998, this pen is a pioneering design making it a truly collectible piece.
We have for sale a pre-owned Pilot Capless Gray Crosshatch with an F nib. There are some micro scratches near the trims but it is in great working condition, considering that it’s vintage. Comes as a partial set with the box and metal ink cartridge cap.
Length (nib retracted): 14.13 cm.
