One reason why tortoiseshell patterns remain popular—especially on frames for eyeglasses—is because they blend with everything. They’re both simultaneously vintage and timeless, and add sophistication in any setting.
The same goes for tortoiseshell patterns on fountain pens. One that sports it is the Pelikan M800 Tortoiseshell Brown. Unlike the usual faceted design, this pen has tortoiseshell-inspired resin stripes on its barrel, retaining a Stresemann feel while offering a beautiful blend of brown, black, amber, and pearl. The dark brown (almost black) cap, section, and piston knob blend well with the rest of the pen.
We have for sale a pre-owned, 2013 version of the Pelikan M800 Tortoiseshell Brown. It has gold-plated trims and a two-tone, 18C-750 gold nib in F. As this is a newer release, the finial and the nib both have one-chick Pelikan logos. It comes with its inner box and outer sleeve.
Length capped: 14.15 cm.
