Anthracite is high-quality coal that has a low rate of volatility and a high composition of fixed carbon. This material is hard to find—in fact, it’s only sourced in specific locations—and represents a very small percentage of global coal reserves. While it’s often used in heating and power generation, it also finds its way into very niche industries, such as writing instrument manufacturing.
This material was the inspiration for the Pelikan M405 Anthracite Stresemann, which features a striped, semi-transparent barrel paired with a black cap, highlighted by palladium trims, and fitted with a rhodium-plated 14K gold nib.
We have for sale a pre-owned Pelikan M405 Anthracite Stresemann with an EF nib and minimal microscratches. It’s a partial set that includes the pen, its box, and its outer cover. No papers.
