The European Year of Radio was celebrated in 1995 in honor of Gugliemo Marconi who, a century before, invented the wireless telegraph that used radio waves to transmit Morse code. This marked the beginning of what was to become the modern radio.

Immortalizing this international milestone, OMAS created the special edition Marconi Blue featuring the brand’s proprietary cotton resin in deep blue, representing the space that radio waves – symbolized by inlaid sterling silver bands – travel through. As a hat tip to Marconi’s invention, the clip is reminiscent of a telegraph key.
