You’ve probably heard of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9—most specifically its fourth movement, which is commonly known as “Ode to Joy”. The person who penned its words was actually Friedrich Schiller, the highly influential poet and playwright celebrated for his masterpiece “William Tell”. This drama is as inspirational as the lyrics he wrote, as it was the story of a legendary Swiss marksman who led the resistance against the Habsburg empire. Its most famous scene is of the titular hero shooting an arrow off his son’s head.
Marking Schiller’s continuous influence is the Montblanc Writers Edition Friedrich Schiller fountain pen introduced in 2000. It has a unique cap made of amber that beautifully contrasts against its barrel’s precious black resin and gold trims. Schiller’s signature is featured on one side of the clip, and a bow and arrow, William Tell’s weapon of choice, is etched on the 18K gold nib.
For sale is a pre-owned Montblanc Writers Edition Friedrich Schiller fountain pen (2000) with a B nib. It has very minimal micro scratches and is in good condition. It comes with its complete set, which includes its outer box, its inner book-like box, and papers.
