Russian novelist Fyodor Dostoevsky is best known for “Crime and Punishment” (1886), which tackles guilt and morality through its main character Rodion Raskolnikov, a student-turned-murderer struggling to justify his actions. A polarizing book during its time, it’s considered one of the first novels to delve into psychoanalysis and existentialism—two topics that became the hallmarks of Dostoevsky’s literature.
In honor of his many works, Montblanc released the Writers Edition Fyodor M. Dostoevsky in 1997. One of the first Writers Edition releases, this pen elegantly designed pen features the brand’s black precious resin, with a barrel decorated with a guilloché pattern inspired by the ornate décor of Czarist Russia. The cap features a clip with blue sapphire cabochon, two gold bands, and the novelist's signature on one side.
