Rudyard Kipling was a poet, short-story writer, and novelist best known for his exploration of British India. He would write vivid narratives and use the vernacular in poetry, making his works more readable and relatable to the common man. As imperialism was often his central topic, many of his works were controversial, even polarizing, especially at the end of World War I. Many decades later, however, they would be studied for their technicality and become materials for post-colonial research in universities.
Despite controversies, this author contributed much to English literature, which is why Montblanc released the Writers Edition Rudyard Kipling, a pen with a unique jungle green color from its resin cap to barrel. The platinum-coated clip features a wolf’s head, symbolizing the pack that protected Mowgli as he grew up in Kipling’s ever-popular “Jungle Book”. A ring near the finial has a line from his poem “If—” engraved, and the author’s signature adorns the cap. The 18-karat, rhodium-plated gold nib features the globe.
