Vermeil is also known as “silver gilt”; it’s high quality silver that’s layered and pressed with a very thin sheet of gold. As it takes 10K gold and a material that’s 2.5 microns thick to be called vermeil, it’s often used for luxury products, similar to the Montblanc Meisterstück 146 Solitaire Pinstripe Vermeil. This pen features a .925 sterling silver body and an 18K gold nib. This piston filler is heavier than your usual Montblanc due to its precious metals, and it can be considered an heirloom pen. 

We have for sale a Montblanc Meisterstück 146 Solitaire Pinstripe Vermeil fountain pen with an F nib. As this is pre-owned, it has an engraving of the previous owner’s name on the cap. It has no functional issues. We’re offering only the pen, no box or papers.
