Many fountain pens with a retractable nib often come with a click-action system, and while some utilize a twist mechanism, it’s not as common as the latter. One of the lines that do, however, is the Montblanc Bohème. Functionality plays a huge role in the design of its retractable pens—to post, the cap needs to be twisted on, which doubles as a way to release the nib. It’s a smart system that isn’t only efficient, but also keeps the cap from getting lost.
We have for sale a pre-owned Montblanc Bohème Steel Noir released in 2000. Its stainless steel body is inspired by turn-of-the-millenium metallics and it features a synthetic, paramount-cut onyx on its clip. It’s installed with an 18-karat, rhodium-plated gold nib (F). The pen has signs of use but is otherwise in good condition, and it comes with its inner box only.
Length capped: 11 cm.
Length uncapped (nib included): 13.5 cm.
