Planning to own your first Montblanc? Aside from the sturdy precious resin its pens are known for, one reason why it is such a beloved brand is its nib. Stamped under 18 tons of pressure and later pressed and hand ground, their nibs are known to offer exceptionally smooth and consistent ink flow. If you don’t have the budget for Montblanc’s more exclusive lines, then the Meisterstuck 149 is a great choice.
We have a pre-owned unit for sale that comes with a bi-color 14C B nib. (Those marked with “C” instead of “K” are known to be softer nibs.) It has a solid ebonite feed, a striated ink window, and plastic piston threads. Ebonite feeds allow for good and consistent ink flow, which supports the nib’s slight spring. It measures 14.7 cm. capped and 13.2 cm. uncapped.
We’re offering only the pen with general signs of use and microscratches. For a 14c bicolor soft nib, the rhodium plating on the nib barely has any signs of coming off (common in this generation of 149s)
