Montblanc started producing bi-color nibs for the Meisterstuck 149 in the late 1970s. These were initially marked with “14C” to indicate their 14-karat gold composition; however, in the 1980s, this changed to “14”. Another shift came in the 1990s, when the tri-color nib was introduced when the Hemingway, the first Writers Edition fountain pen, was released (which we also have for sale).
What we have available today is a pre-owned Montblanc 149 with a bi-color nib from the 1970s. A soft and bouncy F tip marked with “14C”, it is the highlight of this Meisterstuck flagship made from the brand’s proprietary precious resin. Expect the pen to have some signs of use since it's vintage: there’s a bit of fading on the metal trims but no deep dings or scratches. We’re offering only the pen, no box or papers.
