Sailor Pro Gear Slim Mini Rencontre Vert Sapin

“Rencontre” is the French word for “encounter,” a name Sailor chose to describe the meeting of transparent, durable acrylic resin and the elegant depth of marble patterns. First introduced in January 2023, the Rencontre returned that July with three limited colors centered on the theme of nature. Among them was Vert Sapin, French for “fir green,” a deep green shade reminiscent of evergreen foliage. 

What makes the Rencontre especially interesting is how its pattern is made. Rather than printing or applying the marbling onto the surface, Sailor uses an injection-molding process in which two colors are allowed to blend irregularly without completely melting into one another. Achieving this effect with acrylic resin required Sailor to develop its own molding technique, producing a glossy pattern with visible depth. Because the colors form differently during each molding, no two Rencontre barrels are exactly alike. 

The Vert Sapin brings this craftsmanship to Sailor’s compact Pro Gear Slim Mini form, pairing its deep green marbled barrel with crisp white resin and gold-toned accents. At just 10.95 cm. when capped, it is designed to be easy to carry, yet reaches 13.2 cm. when configured for writing. Completing the pen is Sailor’s medium-sized 14-karat gold Medium-Fine nib.
