Sailor Pro Gear Slim Mini Rencontre Bleu Ciel

“Rencontre” is the French word for “encounter,” a fitting name for a series built around the meeting of color, material, and chance. Introduced in 2023, Sailor’s first Rencontre collection debuted in three shades: Gris Fer, Bordeaux Foncé, and Bleu Ciel. The latter translates to “sky blue,” giving this edition its light and airy identity. 

At the heart of the Rencontre is Sailor’s distinctive marbled acrylic resin. Rather than applying a pattern to the surface, Sailor developed its own injection-molding technique that allows two colors to partially blend while retaining their individual character. The result is a glossy, dimensional pattern that forms differently with every molding, ensuring that no two Rencontre barrels are exactly alike. 

The Bleu Ciel brings this craftsmanship to Sailor’s compact Pro Gear Slim Mini form, pairing its sky-blue marbled resin with white accents and gold-toned metal parts. Small enough to fit comfortably in the palm when closed, the pen extends to a more substantial 13.2 cm. writing length once the cap is posted. It is fitted with Sailor’s 14-karat gold Medium-Fine nib, balancing the precision of a finer point with enough width for comfortable everyday writing.
