Sailor 1911 Realo Gold Trim

The 1911 Series takes its name from the year Sailor was founded, honoring the Japanese company’s long tradition of craftsmanship in writing instruments. With its rounded ends, classic proportions, and understated styling, the 1911 has become one of Sailor’s defining designs, carrying forward a traditional silhouette paired with the gold nibs for which the brand is known. 

The REALO adds another dimension to that familiar 1911 form through its built-in piston-filling system. Instead of relying on cartridges or a converter, ink is drawn directly into the barrel by slowly turning the piston knob. Sailor itself describes the filling process as a quiet, relaxing ritual, turning the simple act of replenishing ink into part of the enjoyment of owning the pen. 

Finished in glossy black PMMA resin with warm gold-toned accents, the 1911 REALO holds approximately 1 cc of ink and incorporates an ink window for monitoring the remaining supply. At the writing end is Sailor’s large 21-karat gold nib, completing a fountain pen that combines the traditional character of the 1911 with the added appeal of an integrated piston mechanism.
