Platinum Century 3776 Shiun

For centuries, Mount Fuji has held a special place in Japanese culture, admired not only for its natural beauty but also as a sacred mountain. Platinum’s Fuji Shunkei series was created to capture the changing seasonal scenery surrounding Fuji through colors, textures, and distinctly Japanese imagery. Its fourth installment, Shiun, takes its name from the Japanese word for “purple clouds,” an auspicious phenomenon traditionally believed to signal good fortune. 

Released in 2020, the Platinum #3776 Century Shiun imagines Mount Fuji surrounded by these violet clouds, bathing the landscape in shades of purple. The transparent purple body is intricately facet-cut to resemble overlapping layers of thin clouds, allowing light to refract through the resin like rays breaking through the sky. At the crown, a detail shaped to evoke Mount Fuji completes the scene, portraying the mountain itself enveloped in purple. 

The edition was limited to only 3,776 pieces worldwide, a number chosen to match Mount Fuji’s height of 3,776 meters, with each pen individually numbered. Rhodium-plated details complement the cool purple palette, while the 14-karat gold nib receives a matching rhodium finish for a cohesive look from nib to finial.
