Pilot anniversary pens often serve as prototypes for new lines, such as the Yukari Royale Shisen Shijin 80th Anniversary release, which became the basis for the Yukari Royale collection under the Namiki brand. It had two finishes—black (ro-iro urushi) and vermillion (shu urushi). On the cap is a gold band and a depiction of the Four Gods (“Shisen Shijin”) in Togidashi Maki-e: Seiryū (east/dragon), Suzaku (south/phoenix), Byakko (west/tiger), and Genbu (north/Tortoise). It has a size 20 nib in 18-karat gold marked with “80”. Only 1,918 of combined black and vermillion units (a nod to the year Pilot was founded) were ever manufactured.
We have for sale a pre-owned, black Pilot Yukari Royale Shisen Shijin 80th Anniversary fountain pen with an M nib. There are signs of wear around the urushi cap ring. We’re offering only the pen, no box or papers.
