In Japanese culture, tortoises are symbols of longevity and wisdom. The northern god Genbu’s chimeric manifestation partly takes the form of these long-lived animals. The tortoise is also often spoken about in tandem with the crane, and as the saying goes, “Tsuru wa sen-nen, kame wa man-nen (a crane lives a thousand years, a turtle, ten thousand).”
The tortoise decorates the Pilot Silvern Art Craft Tortoise fountain pen. The vintage Silvern collection features cigar-shaped fountain pens with a cap and body made of sterling silver engraved with different designs depicting Japanese cultural symbols. The nib is made from 18-karat gold.
We have for sale a brand-new Pilot Silvern Art Craft Tortoise fountain pen with an M nib. It comes complete with its box, papers, and other inclusions.
