In Japan, the Narcissus flower (a.k.a. “daffodil”) is commonly called “suisen”, but it also has another name—-”setchuka”, which means “flower in the snow”. It is one of the first to bloom at the end of winter to announce the arrival of spring. Although not native to Japan, it has adapted to the climate in the course of 700 years and now grows wild in certain areas. In “hanakotoba” or the language of flowers, it symbolizes respect.
The Narcissus flower is featured on the Pilot Hira Maki-e Narcissus fountain pen, which is sealed with urushi and, it’s fitted with a 14K gold nib. We have a complete, new-old-stock set for sale, which includes the pen with an F nib, its box, papers, and an ink cartridge.
