Pilot Decimo SE Purple

Pilot changed the way a fountain pen could be used when it introduced the original Capless in 1963, creating a fountain pen whose nib could extend and retract with the push of a button. More than four decades later, Pilot introduced the Capless Décimo in 2005 as the tenth generation of the design. Its name comes from “décimo,” the Spanish word for “tenth,” and its slimmer, lighter aluminum body gives the retractable fountain pen a distinctly streamlined character. 

Beginning in 2019, Pilot gave the Décimo an especially colorful treatment with the limited Capless Décimo 20 Colors collection. Purple arrived as part of the third release in July 2020, alongside Silver, Champagne Pink, Orange, and Dark Gray. 

Unlike the glossy finishes commonly associated with the standard Décimo, the 20 Colors series features an aluminum body treated with a fine hairline finish and anodized coloring, giving the Purple edition a softly brushed metallic appearance. Its cool silver-toned details complement the rich purple body, while the 18-karat rhodium-finished gold nib retracts behind an airtight internal shutter when not in use, helping protect it from drying out.
