The 2010 Pelikan M800 Blue o’ Blue is a popular special-edition release. “Blue o’ Blue” pertains to “blue over blue”, which describes how the barrel appears to have layered blue brush strokes. According to Pelikan, this is achieved by casting acrylic into thick slabs before cutting them into strips. These strips are painstakingly put together to form a barrel and then hollowed out, giving the Blue o’ Blue a beautiful, slightly translucent finish. Trims are plated with 24-karat gold.
