Pelikan M405 White Stripe

Pelikan’s striped Souverän has been one of the German brand’s most recognizable designs for generations, traditionally pairing its distinctive striped barrel with darker caps and contrasting trim. The M405 takes the proportions and piston-filling heritage of the classic M400 and gives them a cooler character through silver-colored details and a completely rhodium-plated gold nib.

Introduced in 2020, the Pelikan Souverän M405 White Stripe turns that familiar Pelikan look into something considerably brighter. The shimmering silver-striped barrel is paired with a crisp white cap, grip section, and piston knob, while palladium-plated rings and Pelikan’s signature beak-shaped clip complete the monochromatic design. The result is a clean, understated interpretation of the traditional Souverän silhouette.

The striped barrel is more than a decorative finish. Pelikan produces it from cellulose acetate using an elaborate process that begins with cotton-based material, which is worked through several manufacturing stages before being shaped, cut, and polished to its characteristic luster. Completing the pen is a fully rhodium-plated 14-karat gold nib, matching the cool silver-and-white palette from end to end.
