Stardust translates as “hoshikuzu” in Japanese, a poetic term describing a sky full of stars on a clear night. The essence of a cosmic expanse is beautifully interpreted on the Pelikan M1000 Raden Stardust, designed by Yamazaki Mushu from the artisan collective Hoshu-kai. The pen features a base layer of urushi, three varieties of crushed abalone shells applied in the brand’s familiar striations, and several layers of clear urushi to achieve a perfect glossy finish. When held against the light, each angle produces fragmented shimmers, just like the stars across the Milky Way.
